"Music To My Ears" is an old saying which said that someone was pleased as to what they were told or had heard. In the musical sense, this means that the listener welcomes the sound, beat and message of a performance. Of course ,what one person considers as a good sound another may disagree. Depending on many things, we may like only one or many types of sound. We may have grown up with Jazz, Swing and those Romantic songs of such artists as Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole, or we may like the more modern contemporary sounds of today.

What is your type of music and who are your favorite artists?????

I grew up in the days of Frankie Laine, (one of my favorites), Eddie Fisher, Johnny Ray , Chuck Berry and others. I basically like most types of music except for hard rock and the rapping that they do today. To list my favorite artists would take quite some time as there are so many whom I enjoy. On this website, I will feature a few of the current artists that I like and listen to on my IPod and CD players. I hope you enjoy them and if you have some favorites that you would like to see spotted here, or have some opinions on the music world, please leave your comments.

Lee DeWyze, the winner of the 2010 American Idol, is

a remarkable musician with a gruffness in his voice that captivates the audiences. Sometimes the gruffness is not there when he sings the higher notes and they are smooth as silk, listen to Hallelujah on his journey thru the Idol show, I believe this was the song that won him the title.

Earlier in his career, Lee paid his dues in the music industry by singing in the clubs in and around Chicago and is now ready for the big time. "Live It Up " is his third CD and offers a true picture of a man who loves his music and his fans.

I know that most musicians would rather do music that they have written and Lee is no exception; however, I believe he won Idol on singing cover songs and putting his own twist on them. . Lee should mix a few covers in with his newly written music until the public knows his music and realizes his potential and why his fans love him so much. I, for one, believe in Lee DeWyze and his music and will continue to support him as a FAN FOR LIFE!!!

DANNY GOKEY - COUNTRY

Danny Gokey auditioned for the 8th season of American Idol 4 weeks after losing his wife, Sophia, to congenital heart disease. His wife encourged him to audition as she was a big fan of the Idol show, he has since started a foundation in her name called "Sophia's Heart Foundation". Danny finished 3rd on the show and signed with 19 Recordings/RCA Nashville putting out his first album "My Best Days" on March 2, 2010. The album placed 4th on the Billboard charts and gave him the best opening-week sales by a debut country male in 18 years. He was claimed to be the first male idol to be signed by a major country label.

Since finishing the Idol show, Danny has been an opening act on a 2010 Sugarland tour and also appeared on Darryl Worley's ninth annual Tennessee River Run festival in Savannah, TN. On October 18, 2010 he was nominated for Best New/Breakthrough Artist at the American Country Awards. He was also scheduled to be the opening act on Taylor Swift's World Tour. In 2011, Danny went on a solo tour which stopped here in Las Vegas at the Santa Fe Casino, I had the pleasure of seeing him and he is so different than what he was on Idol. . . much more relaxed and himself. . . a "great" performer.

Danny has a second album called "Second Hand Heart" to be released shortly, the titled single is out now and very good. . . pick it up on . . . ITUNES. . .

DONALD BRASWELL

Donald Braswell ,who is from San Antonio, TX and a Julliard School Of Music graduate, was well on his way to a successful career as an operatic tenor when he had an accident in Wales while on a tour with the Welsh National Opera.

The accident happened in 1995 causing him to lose his voice with a prognosis that he would probably never sing again. Years later and after hard work he beat the odds and has made a remarkable recovery.

In 2008, Donald Braswell's wife submitted an audition tape to the America's Got Talent tv show and Donald received a call for an audition. He was then eliminated by the judges in the Las Vegas round only to be voted back on the show by the american public in a wildcard spot. He progressed on the show and finally captured 4th place in the finale.

Steve started singing in 1973, at the age of 17. He was a bass player with Chet Atkins. He has had numerous #1 hits , the first in 1982. He was nominated for a Grammy in '88 and won one in 1992 with numerous wins since. He has won CMA awards and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1996.
